2016 Genesis Equilibrium Disc 30 Road Racing Bike Hydraulic Discs Reynolds 725 – £750.00
Thanks for looking at my listing for my Genesis Equilibrium Disc 30 in size small. This is the 2016 model and features a full hydraulic disc brake set up around a Shimano 105 groupset. The original RRP of this model was £1,849.99. This one was supplied from new by Just Bikes of Andover. I then bought it from the original owner, collecting it from him close to his home in Edinburgh, after he had ridden 320 miles in total on the bike over the course of a couple of months. I have added a measly 20 miles to this total and, I am sad to say, I just can’t get on with the geometry. I made the mistake of thinking that the Genesis size “small” that was introduced in 2016 to replace their previous numerical frame sizing would equate most closely to their original Equilbirium size 52. I should point out that I used to own a 52 Equilibrium rim braked model and it fitted me like a glove. This disc model has a longer top tube and the geometry, to me, feels more like a 54.For clarification, I am 5′ 7″ with a 30″ inside leg. My other bikes are hard to compare since they are cyclocross bikes with shorter top-tubes (a size 52 Scott and a size Small Giant TCX). You can find full details of the geometry on the current Genesis website (the 2017 Equilibrium Disc models have the same geometry as the 2016 ones).I am selling this so that I can buy a replacement in a more correct size (I would contemplate an exchange with anyone owning a size XS in either the Disc 30 or Disc 20 variations). The bike is immaculate. The only two marks of any consequence are a tiny paint chip on one of the seatstays (see photo) and a couple of very small holes in the bar tape on the right hand drop. There is also some very light wear marks on the crankset, hard to capture in the photos and not visible from more than a few inches away. One other thing to mention is that the bike is fitted with 110mm Genesis stem (the Genesis 2016 catalogue suggests it should be a 100mm stem – I did play with a shorter stem, trying 90mm and 100mm Deda ones that I have but I still didn’t feel right with this size frame). There a couple of minor spec changes from the original. The bike has Continental Grand Prix 4 Season 28mm tyres fitted (superb and very little use – see close up photo for detail) and I have fitted a brand Selle Royal Suez saddle which is quite firm and features a relief channel (unlike the soft and spongy Genesis saddle which is also included). The Suez also coordinates very nicely with the red accents on the bike. One comment on the paint job too. It is beautiful and the photos don’t do it justice. One of the photos (a close up where the top tube meets the seat tube) just about captures the pearlescent sparkle in the blue paint but you really have to see if to appreciate how nice it looks. Finally, the Shimano 105 SL pedals shown are also included – these have seen very light use and carry a retail price of over £100, although you can usually pick a pair up online for a little over £60. They will be removed so you will need to fit them on receipt of the bike.I post by Parcelforce in a strong and well packed bike box using lots of foam protection for the tubes and bubble wrap with extra internal cardboard for the wheels and other components. I make no profit from Parcelforce – the cost is the actual charge for their Express 48 “Large” service.Dispatch time is usually 2 working days from receipt of cleared PayPal payment. Collection is also most welcome. I am a private seller and don’t accept returns so please be sure that you are buying the right bike, size etc before committing to purchase. If you need any information, please drop me a line through eBay.
